Julian began his engineering career with GEC Avionics (now BAE SYSTEMS) in 1987. Whilst with the company he rose to ASIC Team Lead in the company’s research labs and was exposed to the early evolution of EDA and language-based hardware design. Subsequently, Julian moved into the EDA tool supply chain (sales and marketing) and was co-founder and a director of ALT Technologies. Julian established FirstEDA as an ‘EDA solutions-oriented organisation’ in 2002.
David’s electronics engineering career also started at GEC Marconi when he joined the company as an R&D engineer in 1984, working on a range of projects including Silicon-on-Sapphire and radiation tolerant ICs. David moved into the EDA industry in 1994.
Ian is a Chartered Engineer (MIET) with 30 years of experience in ASIC and FPGA design. Initially working in R&D for such companies as Nortel, Fujitsu, Sanyo and Ericsson, Ian moved into customer sales & support with Atmel in 1996. He holds a first-class bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering Design and Production.
